vidstickerHow to make a boomerang from a video for Telegram
A boomerang is a short video that plays forward, then backward, over and over. In Telegram a boomerang can be a sticker: it rocks back and forth right in the chat and never gets old. The effect is called Boomerang in our editor and bot.
How to make a boomerang online
- Open vidsticker.com and upload a video.
- Pick the moment on the frame strip — a short motion: a nod, a jump, a wave.
- On the Time tab tap Boomerang.
- Tap “Make sticker” — download the boomerang or add it to your pack.
How to make a boomerang in the bot
- Send a video to @vidsticker_bot with the caption “boomerang”. You can set the moment too: “boomerang from 0:04”.
- Already have a sticker without an effect? Tap “✨ Effect” → “↔️ Boomerang” under it — the sticker is rebuilt and replaced in your pack.
On an iPhone a boomerang works from a Live Photo too: send it to the bot with Live on and tap “↔️ Boomerang” under the sticker. How to turn Live on — in the Live Photo sticker guide.
Which moments work
- A nod, a wink, a smile — an endless “yes-yes-yes”.
- A jump, a turn, a wave of the hand or a hair flip.
- A toast — glasses meeting and parting.
- A pet catching a toy, a ball bouncing off the floor.
- A wave, a swing — anything that moves back and forth.
A boomerang uses half of the three seconds: a second and a half forward and a second and a half back. So choose a short action — a long one won't finish. You can speed the video up: “×2” fits three seconds of motion into a boomerang.
Boomerang, Loop or Reverse?
| Effect | What it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Boomerang | Forward, then backward | Short back-and-forth motions |
| Loop | The end blends into the start | Dances, fire, water — anything that repeats |
| Reverse | Backwards | Funny rewinds: jumping out of a pool |
