How to make a sticker longer than 3 seconds

Telegram doesn't accept video stickers longer than 3 seconds — that's Telegram's own rule, and there's no way around it: a 4-second sticker simply won't be added to a pack. But you can fit more video into those 3 seconds by speeding it up.

Speed it up: ×2 and ×3

At “×2” a sticker fits 6 seconds of video, at “×3” — 9. For dances, falls and funny moments a speed-up often looks even better: the sticker gets punchier.

“×2” — six seconds of video in a three-second sticker

Pick the key 3 seconds

Sometimes there's no need to speed up — just cut the rest. Drag the window on the frame strip to the most expressive spot: a sticker is about one emotion or one action, not the whole story. In the bot the moment is set with the caption “from 0:05” and the “⏪ 1 s” and “1 s ⏩” buttons. How to trim a video

Slowing down works too

“×0.5” stretches a second and a half of video over three: handy for fast motion — a jump, a throw, a hair flip. In the bot — the caption “slow”.

No jump at the seam

A sticker plays in a loop, and you may see a jump where the end meets the start. Effects remove it: Boomerang plays the video forward and back, Loop blends the end into the start.

Need longer — make a round video

If all 10–60 seconds matter, with sound too, that's a job for a round video, not a sticker: a video message up to a minute long that you can forward to anyone. Round video

Questions and answers

Why can't a sticker be longer than 3 seconds?

That's Telegram's decision: a video sticker is up to 3 seconds, up to 256 KB and up to 30 frames per second. Telegram won't accept a longer one.

What's the most video a sticker can fit?

9 seconds — at “×3”.

Won't it look choppy after speeding up?

No: frames are recalculated and the sticker plays smoothly — up to 30 frames per second, as Telegram allows.

Can I combine speed with an effect?

Yes: speed and effect are separate settings. For example, “×2” and Boomerang together.

Is it free?

Yes, with no channel subscriptions and no ads.
