Custom animated Slack emoji from a video or GIF

Upload a video, a GIF or a photo — or paste a link to a clip. AI removes the background, you add an outline or text, and get an emoji that fits Slack's limits: just add it to your workspace.

What you get

Animated emoji A 128×128 GIF under 128 KB and 50 frames — exactly what Slack takes for custom emoji.

Questions and answers

What size should a Slack emoji be?

Slack takes a square JPG, PNG or GIF under 128 KB, and a GIF can have up to 50 frames. It shows emoji small, so 128×128 is plenty — that's what we make.

Why does my emoji have fewer frames than the video?

Slack allows 50 frames, so a 3-second clip plays at about 16 frames per second; to fit 128 KB we may lower the frame rate further. Short clips with calm motion look smoothest.

Who can add custom emoji?

By default, anyone in the workspace. Owners can limit it to admins — then ask one of them.

Why are the edges a little jagged?

A GIF pixel is either transparent or not, so a cut-out edge gets tiny steps. At emoji size they're barely visible, and an outline hides them further.

Is it free?

Yes, with no watermark and no ads. Without signing in you can make 5 emoji a day; signing in removes the limit.

Can I make Discord emoji or Twitch emotes too?

Yes — on our Discord page and Twitch page. And the main editor makes video stickers for Telegram.

What happens to my videos?

Videos and finished emoji are kept for up to 7 days to improve the service, then deleted. To have them deleted sooner, email support@vidsticker.com. Details are in the privacy policy. vidsticker is not affiliated with Slack.
